Well done, A&E. Thank you for giving his devoted fans the opportunity to accompany David Cassidy on his final journey and to grieve.
A raw intimate view of David Cassidy
I enjoyed the documentary, although it is always difficult to see the devestating effects of dementia. You will view the old footage amidst a flood of happy memories as there was little not to like of his early career. I had forgotten how massively popular he was at the time (early 70's). Very charismatic and a great voice. The insights of David's friends, including Alice Cooper (yes- they were good friends!) and the congenial Danny Bonaduce add a lot to the production. This last session of recording is a tribute to his father, Jack Cassidy, who later married Shirley Jones who then starred as his mother in The Partridge Family TV series. David is clearly struggling during these sessions, both physically, emotionally and mentally. He stays with it and completes this final EP Album. The tender love his band shows for him during the recordings is very moving and a highlight of the video. Sadly, he needs to be admitted to a Chicago hospital the day after the recording with alcoholic cirrhosis. He died in late 2017. "Wish You Were Here".
