Description

The Emmy® and Golden Globe® award-winning drama series returns with a second season shaped by Offred’s pregnancy and her ongoing fight to free her future child from the dystopian horrors of Gilead. “Gilead is within you” is a favorite saying of Aunt Lydia. In Season Two, Offred and all our characters will fight against – or succumb to – this dark truth.

This season truly excels in terms of cinematography, pacing, atmosphere, plot evolution and shedding light on quite important topics, not only related to women but to abuse of power in general, and the use of religious dogma as an excuse to exert power on women, LGBT and anyone who disagrees with the government, even when the commanders themselves don’t genuinely believe in or follow the rules of the religion they claim to rule by. It’s a show that not only depicts what could happen to our societies but also depicts what’s already happening in many parts of the world that people choose to turn a blind eye to.
